My intent in art is to create stillness rather than agitation, and to open the heart, which results in a release of tension and provides a moment of contentment and harmony. The Golden Mean Proportion, which I use as an underlying structure, is a mathematical system of proportion that underlies organic life and natural patterns of order, and has long been recognized as being pleasing to the eye of the beholder. The ancients were aware of the ordering and healing effect of the Golden Ratio when they made use of it in their designs of temples, cathedrals and pyramids.
